anyone ever dove the red sea?

I'm going to Ethiopia to pick up our adopted child and I'm considering taking a few extra days to go to Eritrea to snorkel, or scuba. I'm not sure if it would be worth the cost (especially when I don't know what it would cost). I haven't been able to do much research, but the dahlak archipelago seems like it would be the best spot. If anyone has any experience (or input) in this what so ever please let me know.

I dove in Eilot Israel, one of the most spectacular things i have ever experianced. I don't remember it being that expensive to dive, and even if it was i would do it again. I strongly suggest you should dive, especially if your allready going to be there. I wish i had took pictures, it was truely amazing.

Been in the big spots up in Egypt (Hurghada and I'm currently in Sharm) and think the diving is great. Definitely worth the trip, especially if you are in the region already. The diving is reasonably priced depending on where you go and the accommodations are pretty cheap.
