anyone ever have this happen to a birdsnest ??

Murphs205

gotta love saltwater.....
my birdsnest fell under a big rock in my tank , it used to be a nice color ,,now half of its the regular light brownish/red with awesome neon green polyps . and the other half is sheet white with the same awesome neon green polyps that still come right out , its really cool looking on the pure white side , i can see the brown starting to work its way back up from the bottom to the top of the white side , i am going to break it off and hope it stay white ... i just never seen anything like it . hope this stays white forever ,,,,,,,

Yep had it happen before. It bleached out from the lack of light or from stress. Check out these pics of the same tri-color acro I had.

The frag totally bleached but still had some visible polyps so I left it and it actually came back from the brink of death.

Well, Kevin if mine does not pull through would you be willing chunk a piece of that beauty off for me? I just re-read that, you said HAD. Is that accurate?

Yeah... it's REALLY white now :(
I gave Jeff (Serpentman) a chunk of it before it died off and he said it was coloring back up for him. Maybe it will grow out and he can spare a piece later.

One of the reasons for me getting out of having all the assorted tanks is that I have lost about 50% of my stuff in the last few months. Some things just keep growing and others wither and die. I just didn't have time to take care of 4 tanks the way I should have.

No prob. Bummer you lost it, looked great in the pic. Yeah between real life and work some stuff has to suffer, unless you want to age faster than you already are ;)
