Hi all,, thanks for the help,,,,, by the sounds of the responses there have been no unintentional breeding of marine angelfish in the home aquarium,, I ve been reading up on your links and it seems plankton and phytoplankton are very important in the raising of the larvae ,,, I found a good link if anyone is interested showing the basic breeding program http://www.sihawaii.com/sydkraul/fischeri/fischeri.html you might need to copy and paste the link

dallas-
my guess is that pairs of centropyge angels are breeding daily in our home aquarium, intentionally or unintentionally. Most people don't filter the water going over the overflow and I would guess miss out on all the spawn.
Thats said, raising the fry for the average hobbyist is darn near impossible. its not phytoplankton its the plankton, the copoepod nauplii are a bug-a-boo and to ensure they are nutritionally sufficient for 100+ day (the larval period of centropyge angels) is beyond most -okay many hobbyists. If you dedicate your time efforts & resources you can do it. Look at franks work, hes living proof
