anyone ever use kick ich

I personally have not used it, I heard it was not that great, If I ever have a breakout of Ich in my tank I slowly raise the temp on my tank to 82 degree's and use garlic extreme every day for 2 weeks then if all is cleared up I slowly lower my temp back down so i dont shock my fish with a fast temp change

Drop SG to 1.009 and raise temp as the poster above suggested.

Clowns rarely get ich, post a pic.

its not the clowns its my powder blue tang if i lower my salt and raise the temp will it affect my corals or bta

I used Kick Ich twice first time it worked great. Second time killed all but three fish, but soft corals (all I had at the time) did fine in both cases. The company suggested it has a shelf life.

If you don't want to do the quarantine/fallow thing (best option) you could get a couple cleaner shrimp and/or two neon gobies (2 because they will get ich too but can clean each other), and lower the temp below 80F say 78degF. Above 80F the ich life cycle is continuous. Below 80 not all the cysts that drop off and form eggs will hatch, but they will still be in your tank waiting for a warm day. (that is why lower SG and warm up works, it hatches the things to death). Siphoning the bottom and regualr water changes with the above can get a strong fish through, but you'll probably loose 1 or 2.

Ich always brings out debate.....fallow is the only way to rid your system. Almsot every system HAS ich unless strickt QT has been followed and medicated. Ich is like the cold virus..it's everywhere....

the best thing to do is help your fish fight it off..just like the common cold. Garlic and viatimins = chicken soup and asprin....

Help your fishes immune systme fight it off...it will never leave your system no matter what you do unless you go fallow....if your not going fallow..you will not rid ich.

hlep your fish help themselves by healthy iummune systems....feed healthy...been there..battled it...
