On a recent trip to FAOIS I got this Twin Spot Hog Fish and a Red Shroom

The pvc is in there to get everyone's attention off the new fish

Pick up a new leather form FAOIS

The pic makes it look big, the small one is 1" tall.

Nice additions.

I am curious guys - did the shrimp and Arrow crabs survive?

Jim

Yeah they are doing great, when I see them,,,:D

I picked up a new Tomato Clown today that is still such a juvy that he actually still has three stripes. Now I have to just hope he lives through the move coming up this weekend. I would post a pic, but the camera is with the wife in Bronson already so I won't be able to get any shots until I get there.

Introduction has gone pretty well so far, only minor scuffles here and there. For the most part it is the "older" (I put that in quotes as the older one is hardly over an inch) one will charge the new guy and the new guy runs like heck to get away. There hasn't been much chasing yet, just the occassional charge. I got very lucky with my Perc pair, and I am hoping I get to say the same with my tomatos. Only time will tell though.

Nice tank Gator! I wish I could get my xenia to grow like that :(

2 questions:

How big does that mushroom get? I think that's the kind my dad just got for his 36g. He bought 2 and they are 4x bigger than they were 2 months ago!

What is that green stuff in the back middle. It looks like it's encrusting or hard.

1) mushroom - the frilly hairy mushroom has gotten about 10" when fully open - it has since split into 4 , I have had it about 3 yrs before it got that big, occasionally eats brine shrimp or pieces of silversides - the bubbly tip ones (can't think of their name right now) have only gotten about 4 to 5" - really cool to watch them eat - they balloon up around their food

2) green to the R of the monti cap (as you look into the tank) is my metallic green star polyp rock - to the L of the monti cap is just a rock - don't know why it looks so green in the pic - looks like a reg. rock up close

wow he is beautiful - I think they are the coolest looking fish - almost like a mix of several fish just put together - differnt types of fins, spots and stripes - so neat
is he eating frozen?

and thanks for posting the pic :)

ladyfsu - looked at the pic again - rock looks so green because it was just added - takes a while for growth to settle in and often looks bright under actinics - looks like normal rock now
