Its a bit tough to figure out which posts in this thread are sarcastic and which ones are serious, but in any event.
Puffers are NOT reef safe and will eat corals with gusto.

Cheers

OMG...sorry. I keep forgetting that a sense of humor isn't allowed.

I know JJ...I can assure you that he isn't going to go on a killing spree just because a few folks joked around in his thread.

I quit... You guys can't take my questions seriously then I'm moving on. I thought we were a band of brothers "(

Quit your crying. Maybe you should have Scott build you a tank so we can put a rest to this thread...

Or...you could buy my 120 (which I still haven't moved from my old house) for an outrageous price so that I can just buy a bigger tank and transfer just the contents instead of moving the entire tank.

Just kiddin' ;) ...but seriously....:D

I think the wife would kill me if I told her I was buying another, bigger tank because I was too lazy to move the old one. However, it was her idea to move in the first place.

I like your thinking on this one, J. You should tell her it's an opportunity for a fresh start. You will apply all the new things you have learned on RC to a bigger and better tank. :)

....which I will then turn around and apply all the new things I learn to an even bigger tank when we get the basement finished. Yeah, she'll definately go for this one.

btw, Sone. I stumbled across your thread when cruising through the Elos forum. Nice tank. I had to go check out the website. I assume you know the prices of the different systems? Mind PM'ing me with a ballpark of the different systems? The other thing that go me curious, have any of you Elos guys covered the tops of your tanks? Or are the fish just so happy to be in an Elos tank that they would never think of jumping?

I'll send you a PM on pricing or what I know on it.

After 7 months, I have not had one fish go carpet surfing on me. The only thing that has crawled out was one astrae snail. I have tangs, chromis, gobies, anthias and clowns. I'm not sure about wrasses but I do plan on getting a six-line and a mystery sometime down the road. Who knows, maybe the fish are just happy like you said. :)

Hey JJ-

I know a 90g or a 120g are not big enough for most puffers. I know you said you liked porcupines so I'm assuming that's what you're thinking about. I got mine when he was just a little guy and he grew at least 7 or 8 inches the first year. He's now around 13-14" at least. My 300g is not big enough for him, stop by sometime and take a look at how he dwarfs the tank and then picture him in a smaller tank.

And they do eat corals and will rearrange rockwork too. Mine dove right into some zoanthids and has had a bite or two out of a couple leathers as well. He loves silversides, but rarely gets them but has left the smaller fish alone. He certainly has had ample oppotunity to eat them but never has, maybe I'm just lucky, I don't know.

Don't put them in acrylic tanks, they scratch it up in their haste to eat. When he sees me coming with food he rubs his mouth up and down the sides of the tank and scratches the heck out of it.

Yeah, I'm getting a tank made but now I'm thinking about skipping agressive and just doing another reef. I do like those little crappers but I like corals more :). thanks for the info non the less. Someday I'll get a puffer. Maybe if my 380 ever crashes I'll turn it into a FO tank, hopefully that will never happen but if it does I have something to look forward to.
