Brittany, just remember what goes around comes around. There is nothing wrong with the outlets at my house. The tank is plugged into a power strip, with other things that are working fine. And if you were willing to see, you would notice that the same ballast with your pink tape is still hooked up to that tank. It's ok though, it just reminds me that I cannot trust people.;)

Can you show me a pic of what the ballast looks like? I might be able to help you out. Remember, I said might. :D

Thank you! Let me see if I can find one, or does anyone have a pic handy? This just is not my week. My camera battery pack went out & will not hold a charge. I have to replace it too...:(
Well this is day five with no lights. Pretty soon I will not need it..my corals will be dead. That's why I didn't order online, I figured it would take too long to get one here. Wonder who even sells them? Marcye does not have any in stock. This bites..:(

http://www.jbjnanocubes.com/index1.html ~edit, I guess that just takes you to the main page. You have to click on replacement parts then the pic of the ballast.
It's on this page, but I can't get the exploded view to come up on the 2 X 24 wt. the 36 wt one does come up. It's basicly the same, except it says 24 wt where that one says 36 wt.

Sorry to hear about your luck Carole. I sold my lid for my previous NC12g DX a couple of months ago. Wish I still had it so I could help you out. Have you looked around online to see if you could find a Sunpod 16.5" 70w MH. They've discontinued them so they might be hard to find, but they're great little lights. :D

I'll just chime in for a suggestion. I take it that a "12 gal nc dx fs" is a tank that's 12 gallons? If so and you're at risk of loosing corals due to lack of light why not relocate the tank near a window that has ambient light shining through which will buy you some time? In my minds eye I see a small tank that's somewhat mobile with an extension cord at best.

I was thinking something like those orbit or similar lights on legs. I have a 2x26w orbit on my 5 gal nano right now because the light died. Yes its overkill, but it worked!

do you want to try to come up with something for temp lights. I may be able to loan you a light?
That is so sweet of you! Thanks to everyone who has offered help and great ideas. It made me think to dig around and find a temp light out of the spare room. It's just some T-8's but it's better than nothing for now. Chris from sitc says he has a lid for me to look at tomorrow.

I should have said something days ago...could have gotten you some more time to come up with a perm solution with the corals. Have you lost anything yet?

You are all the best! Thanks so much for offering your spare lights. Let me see tomorrow if he has what I need, and I will let you know. That is a great link too, they have lots of good products.Nothing has been lost, but they are not real happy. I took the shade off and let it get some of the sun that does shine on it today. I think it's also getting some light from the two fw cubes that are next to it. It will all work out. I'm sorry I said they would die, I won't let that happen. I was just upset..I get pretty frantic when I think I am going to lose my beloved tank inhabitants.:)
