he is closed today and opens tomorrow at 4. unfortunately Premium Aquatics did not ship the bulb with my order so now i do not have a light above my tank and was hoping to get one today or early tomorrow.

any idea how the color compares to a 12k? what type ballast were you running it on? what would you want for it?

No idea how it compares to the Reeflux 12k. MUCH whiter than the phoenix which is decidedly blue (on an ARO ballast). It was a good white, not pink that has been described sometimes, i just like it way more blue... I think $50 would be fair.

thanks blackdak but i am not too sure about a 10k bulb, especially since i do not have actinics to supplement it. my tank has been without lights for two days now so if i want a bulb delivered by tomorrow morning i have to get my order in now. looks like i will go back to the Phoenix 14k since PA is out of the Reeflux 12k. sucks, but oh well.........

You can certainly borrow the 10k till you get what you want, no point in settling when it comes to lighting. I am just going to keep it as a spare for those "just in case" type of situations. I dont have supplements either. I use the one lamp on my ~20 gal tank.

I got my se 12k reeflux from Rod and love it. Not quite as blue as my de phoenix 14k but just a hint of blue. Great for my frag tank.
