Does anyone on the board have / had a pair of Scribbled Angels? Was thinking of adding a male but want to make sure they can be kept succesfully in a DT considering I've seen LFS sell a pair at times. One person said the male tends to beat up the female but he belives the pair he bought was not a "true pair". If they can be kept, what should be the size ratio?

sorry i don't have an answer for you but i am hitting a ride on this thread because my new scribbled may very well be a young male using this article and pics as a guide

What is the size of your scribbled because their sex is very hard to determine when they're under 5 inches. I bought a female last month . shes 5-6". I saw one today in the 3-4" range and the LFS claimed its a male. After looking at numerous pictures online, dont know how they can make that claim and be 100% sure!!! Can you post or send me a pic ? thx

i guess yours is eating much better now peter?

i just got in a 3.5" scribbled and has it in my DT now too. a guy on the local board had it QT'd already for me. it is eating pellets, mysis, nori already.

i would consider a pair also.

well iam only 50 % sure that its POSSIBLE mine MAY BE a young mail, and using only the link i provided mine at aprox 5 " including the tail shows some of the visual traits of the young male but iam also 100% sure that mine just might be a female as well, and since i ordered a smaller fish than i got and i paid the price of a smaller female scribbled iam 110% happy if she is a female or if he is a young male

Wow thats awesome! I wish mine wasnt that finicky of an eater. Right now she's eating but only clams on the shell! nothing frozen yet though it looked like she nipped at some mysis yesterday. Mine is about 5.5 - 6" . If i had to do it again wouldve opted for the smaller one as I've read they begin to eat much sooner than the larger ones.

i guess i was lucky with mine because she acted like she was tank feed and knew where food in the glass box came from before i ever attempted to feed her/him. she chowed down on flakes the very 1st attempt at feeding

it seems mine loves a mixture of various fresh/frozen sea foods minced ..she goes NUTS, just absolutely out of her mind for the meaty items, i had way more worry with my false personifer of about the same size and purchase date as the scribbled.. the false personifer took a week to even begin picking at the rocks now she eats anything i toss in the tank as food
