Anyone have a starfire nano?

Does anyone have a starfire nano? Pics? Is it worth the cost for a nano? Would you do it again? My nano grew into 90 gallons of custom acrylic and my desk sits empty.

I was under the impression that the thin glass didn't really have much of the green tint to it and it was only really noticable on very large tanks?

I see no real green overlay on my 36 or my 5 except the edges of the glass.

A guy from Canada had a starfire nano built. I think the builder was local to him. Otherwise it probably isn't worth it imo.

Hey Agu,

Ya, I had both my cubes done in starfire. The guy at the shop told me that it would make a difference in clarity. I doubt that's true with such a small tank but the way I looked at it was, with sucha small tank, the cost of upgrading the glass wasn't a lot more.

I knew it was a Canuck, it was the hockey pucks :lol: . Was the builder local ? It seems shipping would be the major cost issue.

Ya, I happen to live in the same city as InterAmerican so I had them put it together for me. Any shop that makes tanks should be able to do it in low-iron glass though... I would never have one shipped.

I will tell you that no matter whether glass is 1/4" or 3/4", the starphire makes a big difference. You may not notice it when it is put together, but a good test is to take a piece of starphire and a piece of regular plate glass, lay them down on a surface next to each other and observe the difference. You will be amazed how much green there is even in 1/4" glass.
