I need a plumbing kit for new tank...well only the drain part of a plumbing kit. The 90 i am upgrading to only came with a basic drain pipe so is going to be loud unless i get the durso type drain on it..thanks

You can buy a bulkhead at most fish stores. And all the plumbing you need is at home depot. There very easy to make.

yea you need the stand pipe, and a T, bring the top of the T to a cap with a hole punched in it to avoid a siphon, take the side of the T and add an elbow facing down and you are good to go...

yea guess i can do that, gotta go to home depot for all my other plumbing stuff might as well do another little project, thanks.

2 things that you need to do. the drain should be 1". the durso needs to be a minium of 1.25." would be better. so get a 1.25" to 1" slip bushing to fit and install that all the way at the bottom and run the 1.25" as far as you can. second thing is if you go to the size you will probaly have clearance issues. for the 90 get a street elbow. it basically fits inside of the tee and saves you some inches. if you don't go to 1.25 you might get backflushing. also don't drill the biggest hole you can. start small and then go up in size if you not draining like you want it or it's too loud. btw no need to glue any drain componets inside of the over flow. this will help you in getting the fish out when they get in. and one last thing. when you are at hd look for the black plastic gutter guard to put around the top of the overflow.. it's like 3.50 for the roll.

have a question, in picture for durso it shows the bulkhead being threaded on the inside of it, that way the reducer can be screwed in, however the bulkhead on my tank isn't threaded...

then you need to get what i was saying in the other post. you need a 1.25" to 1" reducing bushing. slips into the bulkhead and then slips onto the 1.25" pipe
