Anyone have an inwall tank with a flatscreen above it?

Its a bad picture taken on my iphone but here is a shot. It gives no justice of the size of either
 
This is a 14ft wide room and a 6ft tank. the tv is 50in and you cant tell. I have better pics of just tank that show its size and the room size but this is what I could do for a quick pic.
 
Your tank looks a lot like mine. Thanks for getting a pic of it. I am really debating doing an inwall or penninsula. I like the idea of the inwall because I have the room for it and then can do a lot more with the filtration, plus the noise will be a lot less. I've got lots of time to decide as the house will take about 14 months to complete.
 
Seems to me that there is a problem in that you would want BOTH tank and TV to be at eye-level. Tilting your head upward to watch the TV isn't best for your neck...nor is looking down to see the aquarium.

I see a lot of TVs placed about fireplaces and it really isn't a good place for a TV.

Since this is a "TV and Aquarium" thread....here's a shot of my arrangement.

LOL....I've got my tank right next to my TV as well. I figure during commercial breaks I can look at what going on in the tank.......

Untamed, you don't by chance have a web cam hooked up to your aquarium, do you? I have a app on my IPhone called Live Cams. There are hundreds of cams that you can look at. One tank that I put on my fav's looks like yours. If it is, that is a crazy coincidence that you posted on this thread, then I looked up your tank on the Canada site and recognized it.

If it isn't yours, they have a lot of the same fish and type of live rock.

If anyone is interested it is a cool app. I think it was 99 cents, and gives literally hundreds of web cams to choose from, including a lot of public aquariums.
 
Watching a TV that isn't eye level is not the greatest but too many people seem to think TV's are the center piece to a nice room design which IMO couldn't be further from the truth. If you can hide them (I have used painting on hinges to cover wall mount TV's before nicely) or keep them from being a focal point, you should.

I have had some clients with a lot of money to blow on a beautiful room design and then they go and put a 60" TV in the middle of the most visible wall :(

Anyways, what I am getting at is that if you can make the aquarium the focal point with the TV above, I think it could be great. I think the aquarium may end up being a little low though. Then again if its being viewed while sitting, no problem.
 
I personally would take mine over the tank hands down. Its in the perfect spot. I have a 50 in in the living room at eye level and a projection in the thearter in the basement room at eye level and i would take the one over the tank all day.
 
I'm going to hang a small LCD over my TV to see what it is like watching one that isn't at eye level. We will see.
 
I was just thinking of putting a little 37 in the corner from my inwall tank. I am trying to get motivated this year on my tank and think it will be cool to kick back and look at the tank, read or watch a little tv. I agree they both should be at eye level. But that is just my opinion. Unfortunately my tank is in my formal living not my living room. Next house I will change that for sure.

Wow, that's pretty crazy. I really thought I recognized the live rock and some of the fish after I saw your post a little while ago. Cool setup.
