Got tubes?
Hi all!

Just curious if any of you out there had any experience with Oceans Motions? I'm just looking for some general info about them. I'm very curious. I'm not really sure if one would do me any good with my current tank, but a little later on they could be well worth it. :)

Brian and Moriah have one now ;). Neat products but for the money you spend on a CL all in all I am going with Tunzes and a controller with the new tank this time for the same up front money pretty much. Mine never gave me trouble. Got jammed 1 time early on in the set up but never again. I just want to be as simple as I can with the new tank but I was happy with the OM just trying something different this time and less holes via bulkheads to leak on our new hardwood the better since we all know my reputation for spilling water on my floors!!

My only experience thus far is with plumbing it in... which was a bear because I had to criss-cross the outputs in a relatively confined space. I'll let you know what I think of the performance in a week or two.

On the CL vs. powerhead argument I have to say there are quite a few things about ph's that are hard to ignore. However, for flow along the front of the tank without cluttering the tank, they are hard to beat. The more experience I get in the hobby the more I appreciate what flow can and cannot do for a tank. So, I've been preferring a mix of CL and ph's.

Big thanks for the replies, guys and gal! ;) Sorry I missed this thread earlier.

I love the idea of the Tunzes, but I really like the idea of also being able to conceal as much equipment as possible. If all goes well, my next tank will be rather large and I plan on possibly putting it in my studio in our (eventual) basement. I would really like to do it as well as possible and take my time and invest into it. Maybe investing is a word you shouldn't use in reefing...

Anyway, keep me updated, Brian. Let me know how you like it. I think the only thing I don't like about it as much is that its a bit more difficult to "aim" if you have a dead spot than simply redirecting a powerhead. We'll see, though. :)
