Anyone have any information on something called a cling fish?

If they are brown and tadpole shaped, they are also called skillet fish. they usyally max out at about 4'' and they stick to things, using their pelvic fins as a suction cup. They are predators of amphipods and small fish, shrimps, anything they can catch. They usually take to frozen foods well and are hardy. Reef safe IMO, but they will eat anything that can fit in their mouths, which is smaller than the majority of ornamental inverts in the hobby, so go for it.

Sometimes remoras and Diademichthys lineatus are called cling fish. Remoras are unsuitable for obvious reasons and as far as I know about Diademichthys lineatus, they are challengeing and not the hardiest. They prefer live foods and probably need the pod population the way a mandarin would.
