Unfortunately, its rare, and its not photosynthetic. I was given this specimen to try some cultured foods on, and even then, it didnt survive.. Not a good candidate for the home reef tank.
Here is my green polyp toadstool leather I've had for about 2 years and pink cabbage leather I got a few weeks ago.I didnt notice that the cabbage leather polyps had pigment untill it was in my tank a while. then after a while I noticed them starting to take on a yellow/green color that is getting pronounced over time.its hard to tell from the pic tho.It would be nice if they got even darker but Ill just have to wait and see.it grows fast but the toadstool seems to grow very slow.
