Anyone have Condy Anemones out there?

Moved On
I know this isn't a popular anemone and for many reasons but I still like to see them in tanks. In fact I have one. Show your pics of them. Heres mine:

Here's mine:

I've had it for ~3 years in a reeftank in a greenhouse (picture is several months ago); it was sucked into a powerhead about two years ago, and when it recovered from that, it never moved again! I'm glad that it stays put now so it doesn't sting the other anemones or the corals.

damn thing is nearly 10" across now - I was at a LFS last week and saw one exactly like it only about 1.5" across - it was like mini-me.. cutest thing i ever saw, too bad i know what a menace it can become heh

mine hasn't eaten any fish/inverts, but I keep it well fed - it has stung me once, and has stung a number of tube corals nearly to death in a few places before settling where it is now. it's getting a little big for this tank, so i'm actually considering giving it it's own tank to take over, since the wife loves it.

Yeah I keep mine well fed too. Thats always a good thing. Mine has already got bigger within the last two weeks since I got it.

Here's 'Pip-squeak' the better part of a year ago. I had to rescue it from the clown.
It's a happy critter with 8'' tentacles on it now (need to take more pictures...).

we recently got one for our fire clown but sadly have no digi to snap a pick. Our little guy seems to be hosting there just fine.

Well, it's a really cruddy picture.
I tend to borrow other people's cameras, but I had to use my own.

I'm pretty sure that it is a condy.
The tank I bought it out of was full of Hatian Pink Tips, and there were several in there that had the florescent green tips and pink column that my critter has.
Pip-squeak was the runt in the tank, but more importantly it's tentacles were still beige, unlike the rest of the anems.
I bought another condy at the time, so I got Pip-squeak for a discount since it was *so* tiny compared to its tankmates.
The larger condy that didn't make it (bacterial infection) had a pedal disk about 8'' across (Monster), so that's how my condy got its name.

I was curious at first because the column itself wasn't pink, but the pseudo verracuae were reddish.
Now that it has grown a lot it has developed the characteristic pink column.

In the older picture, the condy is 1'' across the oral disk; the clown was 2 1/2'' and determined that she wanted to host.

The tentacles are extended around 8'' in this photo.
I'll borrow a camera and clear out some of the macro algae hedge that I have about it, and get a picture of the column for you all to enjoy. :)

Oh, BTW, I do have a rose BTA.
Its name is 'Problem Child', since I've had nothing but trouble with getting this anemone to settle down and thrive.
I'm making progress with it now, thankfully.

TonyGee29: It depends a lot on the fish.

My clowns ignored the condy until they got to the point that the male began some tenative attemps at cleaning.
I suspect that their first spawn was coming up withing several months.
Next thing I knew the female was trying to persuade the condy to host her, sucking on its tentacles (which is what she is doing in the first picture), rolling around on it...

So I bought them a BTA and moved the clowns out of the tank.

Telgian, your anemone looks to be a BTA and not a condy. can you show an updated picture?

Thats what a Condy looks like when they are shriveled.
