dose anyone have any pics of these things in action? do they really give shimmer? thinking about using with T5's what would be best the white blue or 50/50? cant decide and would like to see some pics

I run two of them over a 36G tank to suppliment my six-bulb T5.

They DEFINATLY add shimmer... not comparable to MH, but damn good.

Do yourself a favor and go all-blue, the white daytimes suck. GL! ;)

IMHO, those lights are fricking awesome (the blues). They add great shimmer and the fluorescence is incredible! In terms of aesthetics I feel they are absolutely the best. I bought four but had to return them and am so disappointed that I couldn't make them work. The issue I had was how narrow the beam is on the LEDs. I just couldn't make them work on my tank (92 Corner) as there wasn't enough room and I couldn't get coverage around the Halides and T-5s because of the narrow beam. They would have worked perfectly if my tank was long though. The crispness and color of the light is soooo nice. Get them and you won't be disappointed. I seriously think not being able to get them to work for me is the biggest disappointment I've had with my tank.

You'll probably need more of the modules than you think, just an FYI.

White led's look boring at night when compared to the blues. I have both on my Current fixture. I agree go all-blue. My Coralife fixure has only 4 blue led's (spaced over 48") & they look awesome at night. Some corals just glow.

If your looking for shimmer when the t-5's are on, I agree two fixures may not be enough. But it would be a good start.

The real difference is the use of optics. The powerbrites utilize them, I believe. Makes for a much more focused led which helps with the shimmer.

How do you guys hang your Powerbrite LEDs? Laying on top of the tank? Or under canopy? Or on the light fixture itself?

The reason I ask is because I have a NEP and thinking about adding these LEDs. My NEP is on a hanging kit and it's 10 inches above water level.
