Anyone have experience with blue sympodium?

I have 2 frags of this about 2.5" in wide that I got off another reefer. I put them in my 40 when I first got them, and within a few hours they were open and looking fine. After getting my 125 up and running I have moved them over, but it seems there isn't a spot I can put them where they open. I have tried bottom of tank, middle, near the top, on the edges of the tank where the flow is less, as well as towards the middle. Have also put them fully in the shade, etc. and still nothing. Every other coral in my tank from my lone SPS, down to polyps opens every day and looks great. Any ideas? Lighting is from kessil 160we's.
Salinity 1.024
Temp 80
Alk 9-10
Ca 420
Nitrate 20ppm
Ammo,nitrite -0

Don't have mg test and I forgot to check po4.

Sympodium is a relatively touchy coral in my experience as well. Even worse, it grows incredibly slow.

I'd recommend more time in near shade as I've never seen it do well in high light. Low to medium flow.
Maybe work on lowering nitrates just a little and definitely figure out the phosphates. Are you seeing algae growing around the tank?

How long has the 125 been set up? Mine are near the bottom w/ kessils and no particular shade and are doing great. Good flow as well--at least moderate. My nitrates were up to 50 at one point and have been slowly coming down but they never seemed to care. They are in the first spot I put them in and have never been touched since

You might just need to leave them alone for a bit and see if they come out but my first thought is that something is different between the water chemistry of your new system and the old. They might just need to adjust--unless they have been in there for a month or more already. I did acclimate to my kessils by slowly increasing intensity.
