very very nice male carl, i have one changing to supermale already and i think 1-2 bachelors, none of them are fighting though and they all stay grouped together, its either between adding 8 more females, and only adding the sohal and a clown pair or adding a pair of crosshatch triggers but i dont know about their aggression

also all of my ignitus are eating new life spectrum flake, and full mysis soaked in garlic and selcon, and they also arent even close to skiddish when im around the tank which i love, i think the trigger pair will add a nice touch to the tank, i will also be upgrading my tank too somthing along the lines of a 300 so size wont be a problem

alright guys here are the pics of the possible hybrid anthias, i asked peter (the anthias guru, the aid in the ID'ing of it, what do you think it is, me thinks its a dispar x ignitus hybrid, here are a few pics of the ignitus first...

you cant really tell from the pics but on the anthias above (the ones that could be hybrids) there are BRIGHT bluish-purple rings around the whole eyes

Guru, ha! Please, don't embarrass the both of us ;) Not sure on the ID...no experience with ignitus, or what variations they have (male/female).

well im hoping that the ones with the dual colored tails arent males because i have 6 of them in the same tank, but there is no aggression, one of them has taken the command of the group and they are all acting like a bunch of good friends, and now that i look at the pics they single color tailed ones do look like females except for the presence of the "beak" on the upper lip

That whole area of the northwestern Indian Ocean to the bottom of the Red Sea is a odd area. The way the currents run through the Mozambique Channel and around Madagascar hybrids are probably pretty common. The east coast of Madagascar is nothing like the west coast. I was pretty amazed when I was there a few years ago.

My guess and only a guess would be ignitus females on the hybrids and young/ early males on the others.

haha, they are fine now, the one is the supermale and will be fully transformed soon and the others are all bachelors and not bothering him so they might go back to females since they didnt make the full transformation
