I was wanting to add a harlequin tusk to my new reef tank but wasnt sure if he would mess with my linkia starfish or a clam if i add one at some point? i know they can eat snails and crabs and that doesnt bother me but am worried about him eating/killing starfish and clams. What do you think? Anyone with one please advise as well.

I had one in a 150 gal mixed reef for about a year. It was about 4-5". It didn't touch anything. Stars; shrimps; clams; corals; small fish.

I've had 3 in my life and never had an issue with any. Recently had a 3.5-4 inch harlequin in my 220 reef and he was a model citizen

Does harlequin Tusk require swimming room like tangs?

I have a tall aggressive tank, about 150gal, but 4ft tall. Wondering if it's ok to house one. he won't have a ton of space to swim left or right, but there's a 4ft tall rock structure to switch around

I have a 4 inch HT in my 220 and recently added 6 dispar anthias to the tank. within 30 mins of adding them the HT was eating one. Regardless to say between my HT and my niger trigger none of them survived.

If your going to add one make sure hes the last fish you add or things could go bad for additions later.

I have one in mixed reef tank 300 gallon acrylic tank 2+ years.. no issues with any coral. When i went out of town for 3 days and the autofeeder was empty he did eat 2 fire shrimp. Not sure what is the issues with acrylic. One of my favorite fish.. very active and curious.

I have a medium grown (indo pacific) tusk in my 90 gallon reef tank. (4ft) He doesnt eat any corals and he is a good community fish. He leaves alone all wrasses and smaller fish so far. I do feed him feeder guppies every once in a while though.

One of my favorite fish and i would highly suggest him.

I think the feeding of guppies will come back to bite you. Well, not you but...:fish2:

I was positive he would eat my cleaner wrasse due to size and wrasse mix ups. But honestly my harlequin leaves all my wrasses alone including a leopard wrasse.
