Anyone here used the Ecotech vortech's?

I was wondering how people felt about them. Good? Bad? Better or worse than the Tunze?

I've considered them multiple times. In the end what made me decide against them was the fact that they are not controllable and non-directional.

Other than that they are sweeeeeeet PH's I saw one last week at my friends setup and they do look sweet and non intrusive. They are certainly quality products.

i like them and will probalbly get one because of thier large disperse patern and the 24hr battery pack as an upgrade. That and a small battery powered airpump could do my whole tank.

I was considering getting one for the backup and the non intrusiveness of them in a smaller tank is nice.

I have read they will be coming out with a controllable model, not sure when.

Non directional is my biggest issue, in the cube do you think I would see this as an issue?

The current vortechs will be controlable once the controller comes out. As far as I read a few months ago in the IceCap forum, they would be upgrading the pumps with the wireless module free. I dunno if they're still offering that.
