Porites asteroides or P. colonensis is my guess. Several caribbean stonies look very similar from a distance, though.

didnt know there was an SPS ID forum... I need to pay more attention.

Anyway... are either of those two "Porites asteroides or P. colonensis" available in the hobby?
I am hoping to get a collection of area specific items and that coral is one on my list but I have never tried to ID it.

Caribbean stony corals haven't been allowed in the hobby for about 20 years. The Acropora species are on the endangered list, and the rest are threatened species. There are heavy penalties associated with illegally collecting them.
