Anyone in Canada??

Nice to see someone close to the Kootenays, do you guys have any good LFS there?

Ha, ha, someone resurrected this thread and reading thru it once again looks like I owe you some kind of answer! Several pet shops carry saltwater stuff in Vernon, but it's costly so many of us end up making trips to the coast or ordering online. Couple of shops in Kelowna as well, but same idea, limited selection and pricey. In Vernon there is AJ's Pets & Things and Complete Pet Mart, or maybe it's Pet Smart, not sure. Kelowna has a number of 'in' home type operations as well as Pet Smart (I think) and a little place called Pet City in the south end. They've had some nice corals on occasion, but I've never purchased anything there. At least they specialize in Aquaria whereas most of the others are big box all in one pet stores. All my corals have come from a local hobbyist in the form of frags, or as in the case of my zoanthus, magically appeared on my rock one day. I guess in the Kootenays the prices are even more scary. I usually spend a week in the backcountry either in the Rockies north of Golden or the Kootenays. Spent a week at Boulder Hut last year, that's actually the Selkirks, but need to travel via the Kootenays to get there.

lmao... :) You're not the first person to tell me that.

Going to Toronto.... I'm a more suburbs with more open-spaces girl though, so we shall see where I end up. :)

Looks like i'm th only maritimer here

Only Maritimer, but not the only Atlantic-er:)

St. John's NL here. I mostly use J&L and MOPS, but have also used Ocean Aquatics, Pets and Ponds and a couple others for equipment/dry goods. Livestock is a lost cause in NL, they airlines think we're an island off the coast of Denmark or something.

2 International and 2 regional airports serving 500 000 people, you'd think you'd be able to get something shipped. Damn Air Canada monopoly!

I'm in Calgary. I'm also new to reef tanks and just planning a new one. Anyone in the area who can give me some advice over coffee would be appreciated.

Wow. I'm surprised I'm the first to say ...Brampton. Maybe others said Toronto to avoid embarrassment lol.
I do my online orders (dry) through jlaquatics and buy locally from Aquarium Depot, Big Al's, and Strictly Fish in Georgetown. I'm interested in this new LFS in Orangeville. Anyone else have any experience with it?

Markham, Ontario also known as Canada's Hitech Capital!

In terms of LFS, we are extremely lucky to have some of the best stores around including, SeaUMarine, North American Fish Breeders, Reefraft, Oakville Reef Gallery, etc.... Our coral prices are waaaay cheapers then the US, so we should all be thankful!

Haven't been to that one, but there's a couple on Dundas St W that are worth visiting.

Another maritimer here. I wish we had the selection and pricing that the states have. i alwways find these cheap DIY projects on here but when I look into getting the parts here I might as well just buy the prebuilt alternative.
