Anyone in Dover area have RO?

I was wondering if anyone has an RO unit in the area that I could borrow. I am thinking about getting a 90 gal tank that is all set up already, the tricky thing is that I have to keep the corals/rock/sand alive untill the tank can be filled up. We set up our 75 gallon with RO from Home Depot, but for the price of that for the 90 i could almost buy an ro unit, so I was wondering if anyone had an RO unit that I could borrow for a day or two.

Im trying to think of ways to do this... but Im coming up short on ideas. I have a way to move the tank and stand untill friday, but I have no way to get it filled once it is here and nothing really store 100lbs of LR in untill I can fill the tank. Any suggestions? Im thinking of getting some totes filled with saltwater so that I can move the rock and sand into them, put the corals into our 75 untill something else is figured out, and put the fish into a 20L that I have laying around untill we decide if we want them.

If you get the tank I will lend you my Ro/di. You can pick it up ont he way back from getting the tank. I think i have the extra saddle valve to tap into the pipe.

You need a bucket from the bucketman. Its a Ken thing. I will pm you the number he sells buckets real cheap. Ken got a 55 for like $10

Thanks for the offer to borrow the RO but I guess I wont need it now... ive been talking to the seller and he said that he would hold it till next friday (payday) for me if i put down a deposit. He said that since im putting down the deposit he will let me borrow the RO unit that comes with the tank that I didnt know about, so it should all be good now... now i just have to call the bucket guy and get 2 35 gallon pastic drums to make up water ahead of time in.

Ok, well I went and saw the tank today and put down a deposit cause I gotta have that. Hopefully next week ill be moving it down if I can find a way to get the tank and stand down here. Hopefully ill be working something out with hottuna but if not is there anyone with something a 90 gal and a stand will fit in that might be interested if I pay for gas/tolls/lunch ect... ? Its moving from the philly area to Dover...

BTW... I have no expierence with VHO lights, but that is what is coming with this tank... if anyone knows from expierence, which is better, 440W of VHO lights or 520W of PC lighting? We are going to combine our tank with this one (the equipment is really what I was buying it for untill I saw it)... but I wasnt sure which set of lights to put on it.

I would say your better of with VHO. that being said, to be fair, I have never used PC lighting. From what I have read VHO is the minimum light type for coral growth.

Personally, I still hold to MH with VHO supplement and actinic as the standard for SPS tanks. T-5 being a close runner up, but with some advantages. For LPS/softies, any of those three would work fine. I have never seen a thriving coral tank that used PC. there could be some out there, but I have yet to see one. I also find that the color temp of PC is pretty poor in comparison to the other listed options.

on a similar note.. we are planning on getting an r/o filter. does anyone know the best model or supplier to buy from.
we have a 90 gal tank but we are planning on upgrading to maybe 120 or more.

i've seen them at HD, would that be sufficient? should i be looking for a certain amt of gph for the r/o to produce?

"Tanks" for any advice

Im actually doing quite well in our tank with PC at the moment, thats why I was wondering if I should switch. I have some montipora digi frag that has grown to twice its size it about a month and a half, as well as a cancy cane that has gone from 4 heads to 11 in just 2 months... although the guy Im buying the setup from says that he gets really good growth with his lights... so idk...

Before you buy one from HD, I would check them at ebay and bulkreefsupply.com ... they both seem to have good deals. Thats where i was looking to buy one for our tank untill I found out that this one came with a setup.

wow that is pretty good... I thought it was pretty tough to get much sps growth out of PC, but if you're seeing results on a monit I may have to rethink my stance on PC(functionality wise anyway). I still love VHO actinic from an aesthetic point of view however. I would say give em both a shot ans see which once you like better color wise, but you should be OK from a growth point of view with VHO.

I am a big fan of my Ebay RODI unit. this statement has caused its fair share of controversy though. I have the maximus unit from ebay... anyone may PM me if you would like more info...

I have a 100gpd and have not had any complaints. I would make sure to get a unit that comes with a 2gal storage tank, especially if you are going to use it for drinking water as well (tastes wayyy better to me than Delaware water). I have my unit under my kitchen sink. The RO goes to the reservoir and can be accessed for drinking from a water tap next to the sink faucet. I also have a T in the line going to my DI stage for my fish water.

if you have any Qs about membranes, Ken is the man to ask. I believe he will recommend a DOW which produces around 75gpd if I remember correctly. that is the general standard of quality. it does not come on the maximus however, but I have not had any problems or complaints.
