anyone interested in a group buy??

haha he's geting some pretty easy corals. He got some really cool zoa's today from fraggle reef and just ordered a couple yumas from Dr. Mac. He is on his way to having a cool little setup!

I CANT FIGURE OUT THESE DAMN MICROBUBBLES, ****!!!!!!!!! it doesnt make sense. The only thing i can think of is the elbow is restricting the flow and causing microbubbles from some reason. I have no clue what the heck is going on. I cant get rid of the elbow and i replaced the tubing from the pump to the elbow and still nothing. THIS SUCKS....its driving me crazy
 
You know I wish I had your microbubble problem, I have to tear apart half the basement to get to all the pipe work, and it involves getting in the sump to work on it. So quit complaining you have it easy ! LOL
I would try a different brand pump again though, maybe a higher quality pump just to see.
other than that your setup looks good and I can't find anything else wrong.
 
yea its just that this is the second pump that has done it. Thats why i replaced the first one. It just doesnt make sense to me at all but dik what to do. I guess i have to live with it.....my hair is too short to pull out so ill just start writing on the walls!!!! haha

its buggin the hell outt of me so idk.

then I changed out the entire line feeding the pump to a new 2" flex line

and the problem stopped. You'll get it figured eventually just keep looking at it and trying stuff.

ok well i think i might have fixed it. You know how the MJ pumps have that little filter thing on the inlet of the pump...well i didnt have that on it. I snapped it on and now it has definitly cut down the bubbles but we'll see if they go completely away. I think without that plastic grate thing it was doing something in the pump to cause the bubbles........come on baby work for me!!!
 
haha yea im sure they would. But i would like to keep all my sand on the bottom of the tank and not have a dust storm going on in there. I think i got the bubbles at least cut down...we'll see if tomorrow is a different story. Yea i wish i could hook up some locline to this outlet here but its too small. I would Y it off and have two different directions of flow. But o well
 
Here's a thought, does it blow bubbles without the rotating device on it? I was thinking as it turns and the top is near the surface maybe it draws in air that way possibly?
 
i thought the same thing....switched out the two fittings and it did it even worse without it. I think i have it good right now but we'll see tomorrow!

Chris told me that you live right down the street from me. I can swing by after work 5:30ish and pick it up if you give me your address. What time do you think they will arrive? It should be good in the bag until then I think.
 
Yeah I usually get off around 1-2 o'clock so i'll call Randalls cell I guess, unless he won't be there. I will come home and drop off my equipment then check here if you have any updates before I come down. Just keep mine in the box too it'll be fine.
I'll write a note to grab you some candycane action.
