Anyone interested in Seining?

I did not think about posting this here until today. A small group of us are going to go to Desoto this Sat. at 10 am for seining and netting to see what we can catch. I know its an hour further for you guys in Orlando but would anyone like to join us. I am in Winter haven, in the middle of tampa and orlando and would love to meet anyone from the Orlando club too. It might be neat for the two clubs to do this together... I know its short notice since I am stupid and didn't think about posting this until now... but who is up for a fun trip... families are welcome to bring the spouse and kids if you want. What are you planning on catching while you seine? Anything in particular that you are looking to get? I was reading your thread on the Tampa forum earlier today and was reading where someone was suggesting to get like a 4x6' seine...I really don't think that will do much in the ocean...lol

We are going into the grassbeds, we should catch common stuff like seahorses, pipes, ghost shrimp, puffers/boxfish, angels, damsels, filefish, high hats, lookdowns, and much more stuff, you just never know. You can read what others have caught and its pretty cool stuff. There are also many snails and crabs that should be caught but unless someone can identify them, you wouldnt want to put them in a tank unless you knew they were reef safe.
On the other hand, I for one could care less what is caught, I just thought it would be fun to meet up with other reefers, try something most of us have never done, and see what happens.
Grassbeds are a natural nursery for almost all marine life so you may catch just about anything depending on our luck.

So Mike,... wanna join us, you can bring your better half and your little princess (or prince, I am not good at telling from pictures).

I would definitely be there except I am going to Palm Coast to meet some old friends. Make sure to stop by the ORCA forum next time and I will do my best to make it...even snorkeling if we can put that together.
