Scored one of my dream fish today from la dd. Anyone have one and can offer some insight on them? Reef safe and invert safe? Any other tips to keeping this beauty healthy and happy? Tia

I've heard of them, and that they are fairly simple to keep, but hard to come by. Judging by DD's description and the price. I'm pretty sure they are similar to a Yellow Candy Hogfish.
But I also saw this on DD.

It's so flipping cute it's only 2.5in!

Based on my experience and others that I know, they are extremely aggressive. He was the last fish added to my tank, mostly wrasses, and he would chase the other fish non stop. He would never attack them, but he would force them into hiding. After a short period of time, I had to pull him from the tank. IMO, they are a beautiful hardy fish, but I would only get another one if it was going into the right environment (aggressive tank). I know that each fish is different, and hopefully, he works out for you.

Yikes

I had one for about a year in my reef tank along with angels, tangs, anthias, a neon goby, wrasses, clowns and a mandarin. He was not aggressive, although I did suspect him of ripping the entire tail off of a male Ventralis anthias, a crime I could never prove so he remained free in the tank. He would eat snails that happened to fall on their backs, but did not bother other fish. I have no hermits or shrimp but suspect he would find them tasty. He clearly was the king of the tank though. Soon after I started to suspect him as the culprit to the maiming of the anthias, he managed to find a way to jump out of my tank and through the canopy. Justice served??? I'll never know. :hmm5:

Fishy due process. Love it.
