Anyone keeping clams in a bare bottom tank?

Do they do well BB? How about on starboard?

I am setting up an SPS tank and I would like to run it BB but if it is feasible I would also like to get a squamosa or a maxima.

I have a Squamosa & Crocea in a BB system. Only the Squamosa is on the BB, the Crocea is up on the rocks but both are doing fine.

I no longer do, but did for some time without a problem. One thing that I did was to cut 3/4 inch sections of PVC pipe of the appropriate diameter, and sat the clams on these. This allowed them to anchor to the PVC rings but could be moved for detritus removal, etc.

When I reconfigured my tank with egg crate on the bottom and spray bars blowing under the LR, I no longer had the real estate along the front of the tank as the clams blocked the desired water flow.
I found them all a good home though
