Anyone know Oceanic Customizations?

I am looking into a custom oceanic tank through a LFS. I have a few questions of what they *can* do in terms of customization.

Call a LFS and ask. Max @ Mermaid does a lot of custom Coeanic tanks, either he or Stephen can tell you what you need.

According to Mermaid, Oceanic won't do braceless tank. They have "oceanic style" brace. They can pretty much do anything depends on price and schedule.

what's oceanic style bracing like?

It's a kind of center bracing which is thicker and wider than AGA bracing. I am not sure if 58 gal needs that or not. You can also send e-mail to Stephen and asking for pic: stephen@mermaidaquarium.com. He replies very fast.

The standard 58g Oceanic tanks are braceless, but not trimless.

The standard 65g Oceanics are not.

Did you use your own standpipe? Or is that the one that comes with the tank? Also how much flow are you putting into your tank?

I have the stock standpipes, but will be replacing them with diy ones.

The drain pipe in the overflow is 1" (one inch bulkhead) - the diy drain pipe in my 120g is 1.25" and is much more silent.

The return pump is a mag 9.5 up to the Squirt.

I was thinking of it, but the stand is so small I didn't have anywhere to put a closed loop pump. Instead I'm going to wait for the Tunze Nano Streams, they're abou the same diameter as a sched 80 bulkhead, and put out a ton more flow with only 8 watts.

I'm hoping that will be a good solution to my flow. =X
