hard to tell for sure from the pic but looks like a chiton.

cool critter and he is a friend, not foe.

I used to have this huge one I would see about every 6 months or so. Its been quite while since I have seen him though. Yours looks to be pretty good sized as well

yes it is a Chitons Here's a great article about them. and yes they are reef safe but they can eat your coralline algae up

While chiton don't causing problems with my coraline algaes.
What I use for increase growth my coraline algae ?
Change water helps ?

are these something you can buy? just wondering if they only fall into the "LUCK OF THE HITCH HIKER" column....

are they all big? i have alot of lil 1/4 in critters that crawl around on the glass at nite that kinda look like these.

Interesting thing. I found it while consolidation my two tanks into one 180 gal ( what a job!!! )

Sometimes you can buy them but the ones you will get are somewhat larger.
