It sort of reminds me of Priolepis nocturna. Do you know where it was collected, was it Indo-Pacific area? Is your goby more active at night time and shy during the lights on? Here is a picture of one, they are fairly rare in LFS. They are labeled by wholesalers as Full Moon reef gobies usually.
ok, so i have a circus, cave, black barred convict, Priolepis Nocturna, white tiger, full moon reef goby-goby. he should be proud of himself with a name like that!
I have one of these as well. VERY shy and usually only comes out at feeding time. Once in a while it will come out and sit on the rocks but not for long. That is also the only time it is right side up. When I bought it they did'nt know what it was but I saw it in the divers den on la 2 weeks later for 90.00 then the next time it was 60.00. They called it a black barred cave goby and I have seen it called a white tiger goby. Have'nt seen one on there since. I just bought a flaming prawn goby from the same lfs for 50.00 and it is awsome. Tiny little fellow about half an inch but neat to watch.
I remember seeing them at pet safari years ago and thinking they were expensive at $35 for such a tiny fish. Then I went home & researched & found out how expensive they were. Went back & they were gone..have'nt seen one since. Where did you find one for $50.?
