that's dictoya, i told you to chop those parts off befopre putting in your tank
it spreads really fast, and when you try to pull clumps it just falls apart and lands everywhere. which is a shame, it's a really pretty irradescent blue/green.
only things that seem to eat it are queen conchs and naso tangs.
so, turn your pumps off, and very carefully pull that whole coral. then break off and toss whatever parts of it have it.
if it has already spread, i'll lend you my queen conch and she'll take care of it.
Thanks Matt ... Had so much going on that day
i must have just spaced it out .... My short term memory is miserable lol ...That and the stuff looked almost kind of pretty lol ... I've got a conch in my 55 ...i'll try throwing it in there for right now ... It hasnt spread over anything else ....Thanks again...
Does Dictoya have any useful purpose @ all ? ..in a refuge or anything?.... I guess what i'm asking is ...Is it useful in any way to anyone for anyreason before I just trash it ?
if it wasn't so brittle it would be a wonderful fuge algae, but it floats apart so easy it would spread from tank to tank and take over without constant grazing pressure.
