Anyone know what this is?

Can anyone tell me what this is? I found it crawling rather quickly along the glass on my clam tank. For the time being I am going to assume it is bad and keep it out of the tank.

The flutes along the sides spread out more in water flow. I'm guessing its some type of nudibranch but is it bad or good? Its about the size of a pin head.

Looks like a zoanthid eating nudibranch. I think the montipora eating nudibranchs are white in color but am not 100% sure. For sure I would get those out asap.

Yep.
The coloration and size match the zoa-eating nudibranches which I've had a long and exhausting battle with for several months.

Do you have zoas in your clam tank?
If so, check on the sides of the zoa polyps when they're closed for a small spiral of tiny white eggs.

I have about 10 nudi's like that but mine are white I bought them to eat aptasia in my reef which work very well. Looks like your nudi is laying eggs.

Even though it resembled the Berghia it more closely resembled the nudibranch-eating nudi. I live by "when in doubt remove it" when it comes to things like this. It is out and gone:D I looked at the zoas after lights out and did not see any more of these and did not see any eggs either (although I wasn't looking for eggs). I will have to stay vigilant and keep looking for these for the next few days to weeks. On a positive note...when the lights went on (the flash light) there was lots of scattering of little pods and shrimp so the tank is healthy and hopefully becoming self sustaining for my Rainsford Goby and my eventual pipefish pair (Chloe and Morris).

Good to hear from you. Your GF says the tank is doing well. She got new lights right? Stop by when your in the `hood again. I'd like to show off the tank. Especially after the MH retro that I will be installing this weekend (Thanks Nanocustoms!).
