I had gotten a lieutenant tang Monday, come home today and find him dead.... All my other fish are fine and my coral is THRIVING, I took pics because of how big my acans looked its intense. Anyway I don't understand how everything is doing so great, yet I had a fish pass away ? Checked parameters and all is well. Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0 Ammonia 0 ph 8.2-8.4
Calcium is around 440
Those are all the tests I have, but I would have expected some of the stuff to jump after finding a dead fish in there, any ideas ?
Thanks everyone !

Well if you had it in that 20L that might have been it.I am not the tang police but that tank was to small.

+1 and the 75 more than likely would be too small also, but don't think that would kill it in that short of time. My guess is that something was wrong with it when you bought it. Are you sure the fish was healthy at time of purchase?

Possibly the stress of acclimation and the small tank did it. Tangs aren't good at handling stress.....JMO

Aw man :(
Well I was going to get a bigger tank mid next year, I bet it was his stress... Just going to wait for my 75 to finish ugh.
So you all think 75 would be too small for a 3" tang ? Even for approximately 1 year ? I work at the store I bought him at, he was perfect for 3 weeks before I got him.
Thanks for all the help !

a healthy fish isn't going to die after less than a week in a 20l, if that was the case we'd all have empty tanks since these fish spend weeks in tiny cubicles at the transhippers and wholesalers. and finally at the LFS

Yeah Ive been hearing a lot about their condition prior to even being at a LFS. This strays me from buying another fish until my next tank is done, but after that ugh the money pit ! haha

Thanks for all the help everyone, greatly appreciated !
