Anyone local to Patchogue with rotifers?

George was so awesome in hooking me up soooo much to get my culture going and to make sure my clown fish have a chance of survival. But even with all the success I have had so far the cold weather put too much strain on the heater in the roti culture and there are only a few survivors. I need to restock/start the culture ASAP. I hatched brine shrimp last night and added them this morning, but know they still need rotifers more. So if anyone is local and can provide me with enough to get my culture going please call or text me 631-484-9888, Thanks Will

I don't have any rotifers, but if you are feeding them phyto the you can just restart you rotifer culture.

Well part of my problem is my clown fri still need to feed off them. When I looked in the culture bucket this morning I only saw maybe 5 per inch of view area. So I know the culture is very thin. How long does it take for the culture to rebound?

I would say 5-7 days, probably not time enough if you have that little in your culture right now. I would try and find some Rotifers too then. Rotifers cultures tend to crash regularly but always let you knew before hand, so in the future when they start to dwindle in density just pull out about 1/4- 1/3 of the culture including the muck on the bottom (it contains rotifer cysts) and transfer to a new container with fresh salt water then start feeding phytoplankton and it should restart the culture for you.

Source: In the past, I cultivated live phyto and Rotifers for years.

Pretty sure Country Critters has Rotifers

Well they had the container, but had not had any new since before the holiday. But I have to tell you, I told them what I had going on, and would you believe it they filled a bag up with everything they had left. To top it off did not charge me a dime!

Im always hesitant to go there even though i live around the corner because of there prices, but lately it seams the fish department has done a 180 and is soo much better.
