Anyone need a skimmer?

I have an Aquamedic skimmer. It is fairly old, but it is sound. It is the style that came with a chamber for bioballs. The water dripped through the bio balls and was picked up by the pump which was in the bottom of that chamber. You could easily use it without the bioball chamber. I have used both Rio and Ocean Runner pumps on it. They both work, but the Ocean Runner is quieter.

I'm selling it without a pump, but you can find the Ocean Runner pretty easily.

One of the regulator pieces is missing but I always ran it without them anyway. You could easily fabricate a new one.

I'll sell it for $40. I could bring it somewhere in Des Moines like Jordan Creek or Valley West if that would make it easier.

can you post a pic or maybe a link to a pic to the skimmer?

i might be interested in it, if it suits my needs.

wow, i answered this post last night but for some reason its not on here.
anyways, i think ill skip the skimmer on account i would have to buy a new pump and have skimmer shipped, just wouldnt be very economical, different story if i was up in DM area.

thanks for your replys.

C'mon, anyone need this skimmer? I hate to just pack it away in the attic to throw away in 10 years.

hey

i think you should donate it to me, as all we have right now is a prizm and it doesnt seem to cut it...

ill pay for shipping ;-D ?

thats if you dont want to pack it away and then throw it away in 10 years... i just dont have much money right now.

i figured it was worth a shot to post this although im not expecting a positive anwser...

Ben, buy the time you pay for shipping and a new pump for it you might as well get a small octopus.....get a job you bum!

;)

So you honestly think that $40 is too much for this skimmer? It was originally run with a Rio 2100 needle wheel pump. It worked just fine with this, but is quieter w/ an Ocean Runner 2700.

I just sold mine earlier this year for $75, it had an almost new ocean runner with it though. Now that i think about it I think that is what i payed for the pump. IMO if you got a pump for it and asked $100 it would sell better....maybe.

To answer our question Ben, you can get a new octopus nw-110 for around $150 shipped.

iajim, have you tried the for sale forums here on RC? Another thing that would help was to clean it up the best you can and take some pics, they always help a sale....good luck man.
