Anyone see any small Hippo Tangs ?

Has anyone seen any nice small to medium hippo tangs in any LFS nassau suffolk border ?

yep. saw a million of them on my trip Sunday. 99% sure it was at country critters, but otherwise it was Suff Country reef and fish.

tiny guys, maybe as big as a quarter.

Over the weekend I had seen a few a t Mutts and Butts in Merrick on Merrick road. Go to the stickey with a list of LFS and make a couple of calls to see if anyone still has them in.

last week at aqua hut, they had about 6 of them. They were all in good shape, about 3 or 4 inches long.

Fish Town in Flushing had a bunch yesterday. 3 inches! Cute little guys!

I don't know how small you want them, but Mutt's and Butts had a few today about the size of a $.50 piece. They were asking $30 for 'em.

Yikes I went to allot of fish and petwharehouse today and small hippos were $60 Not tiny but small

Thanks ,I was at muts & buts today they wanted $30 for tinny ones and they looked a bit beat up so I passed

The ones @ tropical showcase in Hicksville looked ok on thursday. So far I have gotten 2 clowns, a 6 line, and a royal gramma and all have done great. I also bought a peppermint shrimp that ate my aptasia within an hour.

Everytime I go in they are cleaning the tanks.

I bought the first dog from him when he started selling's puppies and my first tank set up

I think his name is Gene and his wife works there too. Everytime I go in there the fish look good, very rarely is there a dead/dying fish in a tank.

I have noticed some of the other stores have not been as clean since christmas.

If you are ver in the westchester area, Jawz in elmford has the BEST selection of fish, might be a little far for you, but as far as selection and size nobody can touch jawz in the tri state. Also....since there is a lot of talk of LI stores in this thread, what would you say is the best fish store in LI, I have been to almost every store in upper NJ, manhattan, westchester and Conn. My observation, there are no good stores in manhattan, jawz has the best selection of fish and corals, and the 2 stores in conn are nice, House of fins and New Aquaria but they are very expensive. thanks

in nassau for fish only; I like tropical showcase. Mutts and Butts is close to me but I prefer livestock from tropical showcase. Corals mutts and butts has a nice size frag tank. I picked up a trumpet and xenia from them and both are doing well.

I was at pet barn once, and remember them having a really good coral selection and fish. But I only went once.

You really have to go to stores 2 -4 a month to see how their fish end up between deliveries.

Suffolk seems to have better quality stores overall.
