Anyone see these?

I have seen them and the only thing I don't like is you can not direct the current in a different direction.
with a Tunze or other power head you can turn the unit to send the current where you want it.

I can't wait to get a preview at IMAC in two weeks. I've heard they do a good job keeping the heat down, although the price is pretty steep.

My big worry is the quality. They are supposed to have a controller too but no word of it yet. I'll wait a year till the demand drops and price too. Then we can find out how long these things last and how much quality is in them.

No way I will pay $345+ for a powerhead. Nice technology and the like but no way I will pay that much for a PH.

I saw them at Macna last year. Seemed to be producing good flow and I like the idea of the motor (heat source) being outside of the tank. My only problem with them is the same one that tstone pointed out.

they put out a huge amount of flow, at first i heard they were sopposed to be cheaper than the tunzes, 400 for a powerhead that cant be controlled is kinda steep.

I know the guys who developed that pump. quality folks, but yeah, almost 400 for a pump *is* steep, but then again, how often do things remain the same price? Also, its well worth it in many applications. They produce a substantial amount of flow for the power consumption.

That might be true, but I think the steep price is just a way to make a good amt of cash since they can compare it to tunze. The heat is a good idea but tunze don't put out much heat at all. It has it's plus and minus but the reason tuzne are a bit pricy is because they also have to pay for import fees. These might sell like hotcakes but they don't have the international market yet like tunze. And we all know us americans are cheap :)
