Anyone seen any Leucokranos recently?

phender- Sorry about the Leucokranos being marked as pre-order. The YourReef.com website has defaults for what is says once an item is sold. That one was accidentally set to pre-order when it should have been set to sold out. The fish in the store is the exact fish in the picture. We have our computer guys going through the whole site now to ensure all wysiwyg items have the correct default. Every single wysiwyg item YourReef.com sells is an exact wysiwyg.
TigeBell Joe is the store manager and does an awesome job. Although he not the owner of the fish or the store :)
Although this fish has been a store pet for a long time we did have a local clown fish breeder give us a deposit on her a few weeks ago. He hopes to be able to start breeding Leucokranos in the near future. For now the fish in still at the store.
Sorry for any confusion.:)

Joe is awesome and does a great job. Both of you have helped me a ton with my new tank build :) And yes, I know Joe does not own the store. However, I was on the understanding that he was the owner of the fish. I guess I better listen better while talking with him. :sad2:

Thanks for chiming in on this :bounce3:

Joe does call the fish his. I think he's in love. :)

I'm not even sure the plan to breed these will work out. So she may remain in the store for a while longer. It's not an easy thing by any means with Leucokranos. From what we understand he's working with yet another breeder to try and make it happen.

Leucs can be pretty nasty to each other. Matching up two fish that have been by themselves for a while is a tricky proposition. You would certainly hate to have one fish the other when they are so hard to come by, especially one as nice as yours.

Pre order

Pre order

I was the one who tried to buy it. I would have paid the full amount on the spot.

I think its time to strike off White bonnets from the not bred yet category.

One hobbyist did it and now ORA has. Its only a matter of time before other breeding operations do to.

Beautiful fish. My favorite clown hands down, chased them for 12 years. So many hundreds of dollars buying DOAs. Wilds were terrible shippers like Nigripes.

I talked to a friend about buying a few from ORA a few weeks or so ago. They run pretty true not the snub noses we saw from the private breeder a few years back(I can think of three hobbyists and ORA that have bred them).

Cap variations are always a crapshoot. Phil is correct i had a hard time with singles. Not sure about captive bred tho.
Hi there Ron

I plan to get a few of ORA's also. I love the variation in there patterns, coloring and shape.

As Kris said this is one of my favorite clownfish and I also have lost several hundred/thousand dollars in acquiring wild caught specimens. Lost most of them to Brook.

Had a wild Leuc and Thiellei in the same tank for a few years, but lost both from a downgrade when they got ich.

The Leuc is definitely more territorial always chasing away the smaller Thiellei and other fishes, but great fish. I'm looking for both fishes currently for my green gigantea but I know they very rarely come in anymore.
