Anyone set their tank on ceramic tile

Has anyone set their 180+ on ceramic flooring? I have installed a support header and am sure I can support a car but wondering if anyone has experience setting their tank on to ceramic tile?

I know no one can tell me what my flooring will support just wondering if anyone else has had this experience and if they made any adjustments or have any tips.

It all depends on the subfloor. If the tile is on concrete, no problem. If it is on a wood subfloor with the tile attached to a backerboard. You will probably have a problem. No matter how stiff you think the floor is, it does have some give. You will probably see cracking in the joints inbetween the tiles if not the tile themselves.

I had a 180 on ceramic tile over concrete slab with no issues. Even now with the upgrade to a larger tank I have no problems with cracking of tile or joints. My girlfriend loves the fact the floor is easy to keep clean when I spill water during tanks cleaning or water change.

I kept my 180 and a 60 cube next to each other on my tile floor, over the slab. I had no issues other than needing to shim because whoever installed the tiles did NOT level them.

WHAT! Your girlfriend wipes up after you do water changes! Sounds like a keeper to me!:lmao:

The biggest issue with tile floors is they are often laid irregularly so you may have to compensate for imperfections when putting your stand in. As mentioned above, they ceramic itself should have no issue with the weight.
