Hello,

I had a plumbing issue last night. I woke up to find a leak in my plumbing system. The short of the story is I need to redo my flow in my tank ASAP. I would like to purchase two NanoStreams 6025.

Does anyone know of any stores that have them in stock? I don't really think I will be sucessfull because everyone seems to be sold out, but I thought I would post and try.

If not a nanostream does anyone have any recommendations for a powerheads in the 600 gph classs they like?

Cheers,
Chris

GreyHalk1968,

Thanks for the update. I talked to John and I will be getting two 6045 so I should have the flow issue under control.

MarkandKristen,

How do you mod a 6025 to a 6045? Any links? Is it cheaper than buying the 6045 directly?

Either way, I am getting two 6045. So hopefully I should be good.

Cheers,
Chris

the 6025 is actually better to mod in my opinion and from what ive read. they have the stopper issue on the 6045 ...( i think i read that ) i just drimmelled underneith the front cover and dremeled off the shround for the impellar. its like night and day.

i think its like half way thru that you can see the pics. took me like 5 minutes for each one. . but they really make a huge improvement

Definately, where I ordered my 6045's they stated that the flow is more spread out tthan the 6025's...

markandkristen, what size tank do u have them bad boys on?? Is it too little flow???

MarkandKristen,

Thanks for the link. That is cool. I like seeing what people who push the envolope do.

Jon,

I don't think I want any Caulerpa, but a beer would be good. I will have Audrey with me. She will have her own milk. (-: I might be able to bring you some shrooms if you want. I think I have one or two caps I can cut off. Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers,
Chris

i have mine in a 150 extra high 48 *24 * 30 before i modded it was giving my softies just a nice current. now it kicks a little sand every now and then.

How long ago did you do the mod? I've been considering doing it since the thread came out, but am worried about long term performance. Especially since the mod voids the warranty. LMK

So did anyone find a place to get 6025's from like today :) John is out currently and does not know when they will be in. I am getting tight towards the end of this project so spending an extra 60 for 2x 6045's just means I have less for LR which is not a good thing.

i havent had mine modded that long. all your removing is the shroud for the impellar. and the shroud doesnt really keep the impellar in place. i also dremeled some slits on the bottom so more water could pass. they are now flowing great. perfect for medium flow.

I have been looking for a couple of 6025 myself. I am on the waiting list with champion lighting. The told me 3 more weeks. I did a search on the Internet and called everywhere nobody seems to have them. I talked with a store in Canada and he said that the first batch made came out fine when they sent the second batch from Germany they found an issue with them and recalled all of them to be fixed. He also said they should be available in early April. I guess we just have to keep our eyes open.

wow, looks like theres a major tunze shortage...maybe we should just make our own? lol man, i was saving up for a few more, i might as well just go all out and get a wave box or something.

I am pretty sure I read the same thing as Rudy is saying (re: the recalled issue). I'll probably pick one up from John once they get them back in.

What's the smallest tank you can really run one of the 6025's on?

i think a new shroud maybe like 10 dollars through tunze. so your out 20 bucks on both of them.

Well thats good to know... I might order another pair of 6025's now instead of the 6045's, do the mod and save myself the $60...
