my guess is they are not daylight, and would not provide growing light for corals..

If you want to cheap out on bulbs (like I do! hehe) check these out...

There's a thread on here someplace about bulbs from eBay and the reviews were somewhat mixed, but the general consensus was in their favor. Good color, growth and longevity was decent for most people...and hell, even if you have to replace them twice a year, you're still saving money. I plan to order 2 250 watt bulbs from them here soon for my 65 gallon...
I'm sure they're better than those bulbs...there's no K rating listed which means its probably like a 5800k or something very "warm" in color. Most likely for parking lots and such.
