Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

I would just put some silicone on the inside and outside like you did and make sure you have air bubbles and that it is tight.

hmm I'm not sure :(
It's 1/2" glass, and the chip is like a pyramid, if you can understand this: Looking down on the tank, the chip is like this

Are you sure I would be OK?

ANYONE
I'm on a tight schedule tank-wise and this really screws me up. Can I still put my Southdown in tonight, and be OK? I'll fill it with water tomorrow night. hmm
I think I will, if it leaks, I'll pump the water out and use the 90g tank I'm buying in a complete system.

Ok, nevermind, I put the sand in anyways; I have looked at this chip, and I think I was overreacting before. If it blows out on me, ****. That would be bad, but I don't think that would happen.

Thats what I thought...now that it's siliconed, it's much solid. It still has more curing to do, but its essentially one again. *Wipes sweat off forehead* phew!

Well if it's a brand new tank, I'd get a new one. I wouldn't pay good money on a new tank with a chip like that. If it's an AGA, call them and they will ship you a new one out.

Just a question... Why is the edge of your tank over the edge of your stand. Is it possible it cracked from not being totally supported. I dunno just a thought. Hope it all works out

DEW is right. Your tank should be fully supported by your stand. You are going to run the risk of more cracks if you don't get a stand that fits your tank.

Damnit, I told my dad that could be a problem. "It will be fine," all said to me by dad, electrician, and our carpenter friend. Can I just cut some 2x4s and nail them to the side of the stand? Like this:

what kind of stand is that is it for that tank or homemade by the looks of the pic it looks much bigger than the tank like the edges are 2-3 inches beyond the tank.is the crack on the bottom corner if so i think your gonna run into some problems. how thick is the glass. is the chip right on the corner? i would call them and have it replaced or you might wanna have a fellow reefer come by and take a look. i wouldn't chance it if that thing blows out your gonna have a serious mess

It's an AGA 180 Gallon stand, 24" wide, but my tank is only 18". We reinforced at 6" in with a bunch of 2x4's, so the extra 6" are not involved. The glass is 1/2". The chip is more on the side, and a little on the front. Here is a more accurate illustration:

so for the whole lengh of the tank all sides around is supported front back and all sides correct.is that chip on the top or bottom . how deep is the chip into the glass

The tank is supported on all sides, front, and back by 2x4s, and two cross supports across the middle. The only thing is that my tank was like 1.5" longer than the stand, so we knocked out some trim. The chip is on the bottom. I'd say the chip is thickest at 1/6"; between 1/8" and 1/4". That is right at the corner. Then on the front side, it probably is only around 1/16".
