Anyone use the blue food grade rain barrels?

I was wondering if anyone uses the blue food grade 55g rain barrels for water storage? I've been looking to get a couple for RO storage and found quite a few on Craigslist that claim to have held food contents and are around $15 to $20. Would like some feedback on those, as I haven't found much info elsewhere on them. I already have large containers for water storage but they take up alot of space in my fish room and the 55g barrels would save some space.

I bought mine from the brew kettle in strongsville. Gave them a good washing and. They’ve been fine for me.

I have used for years. You can tell from either labels or a quick smell what was stored in them. I chose barrels used to store vinegar because they only require a quick rinse; anything that stored oils such as olive, safflower or other vegetable oils will be a pain to clean.

Been using mine for over 10 yrs without problems...added a clear PVC pipe to outside with bulkhead and marked at each 5 gal increment

I sell the Brew Kettle a lot of their cleaning products, and buy full truck loads of 15/30/55 gallon drums. If you can find them for $20-30.00 individually, that's a great deal.

If you run up dry, I've got them at $40.00 new in Brook Park. My cost when buying about 400 at a time is about $30.00 each right now. Resin has continued to go up in cost.
