I got this thing after seeing some moisture in my regular glass heater. How do you guys like it? My only concern is it's opaque, so I really can't tell if it's leaking or otherwise messed up. I like the idea of not being glass however.
i have one on my shrimp tank. it still bothers me that it doesn't have an "on" light. only way i can tell it's working is the loud click when it kicks on, it sounds like a seahorse snick. i remember someone posting a picture of one of theirs that overheated and melted the outer coating.
What the heck there's no on light? I haven't started using mine. I think I'm putting mine in the main tank then, at least I'll be able to see it if it explodes.
I have one in my nano at work. Works fine for me. No "on" indicator. It just sits in the rear compartment so there's little worry of cracking. There's always gonna be a danger of it shorting out or overheating. Same with powerheads, glass or titanium heaters etc.
Well i switched to them in my 3 tanks and have not had a problem, my titanium heater rusted out in 2 months, never again, It does suck that there is not light , but i like the fact that its not glass.
