Anyone used/using 175 Iwasaki 15K

Has anyone used the Iwasaki 15K 175 bulbs with Ice Cap or ARO 175 electronic ballasts? Just wondering

I no mntl uses that bulb.
Its pretty crisp white.
Maybe check his gallery for a pic?

I'm wondering if these would be perfect growout bulb. Output is pretty high for a 175. There are 250's that can't get numbers as high.

I've been running two on my 50 for a few months now without any supplemental lighting. Although the corals seem to like them, they are too white for me.

I'm surprised with that big spike in the blue plot lines that they would be too white. Of course seeing is believing though.

Which ballast are you running them on cmador?

There forsure white. Really crisp white almost no blue to them at all but no yellow either.

I bought the whole setup used. The ballast powers both bulbs that are currently run out of bell pendants. The name on the ballast is Ultralight and says made in the USA. I am probably going to switch to an Aquactinics T5 fixture.

That very true white with such full spectrum coverage and great intensity...you're halfway there with those iwasaki's.

I bet a couple T5's in 03 with your current MH's would have the perfect overall look with alot of growth. Especially for a 50. Unless you have heat issues that is.
