anyone using a kalk reactor?

I've been dosing a kalk slurry at night, and a b-ionic 2 part in the morning(when i remember. I'm not consistent enough with either one to get my calcium up where it should be, and i don't even have a lot of coral yet. I also don't know that adding 2 teaspoons of kalk all at once is the best thing to do. Is anyone using a kalk reactor and have a suggestion as to which one to buy? any other info or suggestions would be great. thank you.

some say that you can maintain the calc levels just by running a kalk reactor.

I am currently doing just that. I am using the 1 that we built during the kalk workshop.

Our kalk reactor looks very doable as a DIY, but we bought a precision marine from Premium Aquatics. With the NJRC Group buy discount it only cost me 204.

I actually decided to go DIY. gonna cost me about 75 bucks. Only problem is it's almost done and i don't think it's going to fit under my stand. i'll figure it out tho.

I fill up a 35gal trash can, drop in 20 tablespoons of pickling lime, stir once, and let the dosing pump do the rest. That last me about a wk. I dont add anything else for ca. or alk. Im keeping a mixed tank, sps and softies

I drip kalk over a five hour period at night to cover my 4 gallon top off on a 400gal system. One gallon of saturated limewater(2 tsps) per l00gals in a one hour period is about as high as you wan't to go. Idon't like to use a slurry because I think you wind up dosing too many impurities which would otherwise precipitate out and fall to the bottom of a resevoir in a drip resevoir. If you do slurry mix an hour or more before dosing and don't dose the sludge.
