Hey guys,

I've been toying with the idea of making a zoa-only tank. I was wonderng if anyone used the aquapod's or JBJ nanopods for this? My main concern was the PC lighting. I've really never used it and have not heard much good about it. I just mainly want to make sure the zoas look good and will grow well.

i have a 12g nanocube that will be mostly zoos. i have an open brain and very small mushroom leather too. i have 72W of PCs. i am just starting out and have 3 zoo frags that i'm still waiting to get bigger and grow, but i have a small colony of eagle eyes that look awesome!! we'll see how things work out.

So you guys are happy with the looks of the zoas under the PC? I sounds like it, I just want to make sure.

my tank is fairly new, so i'm not sure yet. i havent tried any other lighting since this is my first tank. i just moved my eagle eyes from the bottom to the middle and they gained back a good bit of yellow, which is nice. i've seen another local guy's tank where i got the eagle eyes. he has a nano with PCs and i thought his zoos looked great!!!

others have said that their zoos do good under the 48W PCs in their nanocubes, so i'm anticipating that the 72W i have will be fine. brighter zoos (orange, red, yellow) near the top, darker zoos (green, blue) near the bottom. i would also have a some PC actinics to make the colors come out.

I picked up a 24 dx NC a few months back and I transfered several of my Zoos to it. The zoos looked so much better in it that I decided to life my no more zoos ban! Now I have tons of different zoos and they look awsome! It is just the 2 50/50 bulbs but they have enuf blue to em that colors really pop.

IMHO zoas look better under pc's than other types of lighting. If a halide is used, a 20k is the only way to go.
