its pretty fine..like sugar. def not argonite or coral substrate.

Your tank looks awsome, and that was pretty funny about the "salt and pepper". I like the black look, I recently used some different sand for my new tank , it kind of looks like the INDo Pacific from arag alive . I like the look of a little black with my white sand. I got really tired of looking at white sand.

The thicker and more coarse product (Seachem's Tidal) does collect detritus. I have a herd of sand sifting creatures, and they never seem to get it all.
