anyone using mag pump externally?

I have a mag 7 running externally (plumped to sump)and notice something burning. Is that normal? i know mag are know to put out alot of heat. I just dont want to burn the house down because of that. thanks

I run mag12 and mag3 externally.

I've run Mag 5 and Mag 12 externally, they feel warm to the touch but certainly not hot enough to burn anything. I'd do some checking around real quick and figure out where that burning smell is coming from...

the burning smell is not overwhelming but i can certainly smell it. I think it's coming from my pump. I'll double check before going to bed

I been running my mag12 externally for almost 6 months now but the heat is not that but. I thing mag12 temp about 35degC on my setup.
